GO WILD Children's Nature Photo Display at the Library

The Estes Valley Library’s Youth Services department and Western 1-Hour Photo & Imaging sponsored the annual “Go Wild” photo contest for students aged five to fourteen. Forty-six entries featuring Rocky Mountain wildlife, flowers, and vistas as well as nature photos from other parts of the United States were submitted. The contest was designed to promote nature as the subject for amateur photographers.

The photos were judged by Tisha and Tracy Goodemote, owners of Western 1-Hour Photo. Winning photos were submitted by Michael McCown, Brita Ostrich, Gio Dumont, Cameron Ostrich, Lilly Middleton, and Alex Gazmararian.

All photographs are now on display in the children’s computer room at the library. The library thanks Western 1-Hour Photo for enlarging and printing all photo entries and presenting a packet of photo notecards to the winners.

“It’s so much fun to see how the kids have pictured our world,” said Kerry Aiken, Youth Services Supervisor. “The Go Wild photo display creates a lot of interest at the library and many are amazed that the creative and beautiful photos that have been taken by children. Stop by the library to enjoy the nature photography display!”
