Mona will explore how you can uncover digitized genealogical gems of town- and county-specific documents, maps, and photographs from library and archive websites. Learn tips to give you the best chances of success at finding online collections, and see examples of what you might find at the Library of Congress down to the libraries of small-town America

Using the internet, we will look at several options and opportunities for locating newspapers. We will also briefly discuss how important newspapers are for enhancing your research.

Exploring obituaries as a starting point in her research, Cari Taplin has become obsessed with their flavor and nuances. Older obituaries are especially fun to read and some can be very detailed. She will discuss how to find obituaries, what data you can gather from them and share some of her favorites.

3:30 - 4:30 - Get It Out There - Creating Family Websites & Blogs - Cari Taplin
This program will present the differences between websites and blogs and 8 steps to building a great genealogical site.
